Routine Correspondence Minutes: It was reported that correspondence had been received in respect of the following:
Notification from the Roads Service regarding the proposed provision of a disabled parking bay at 13 Elm Street.
The Committee was advised that a catalogue of future training and development related events had been received from the Royal Town Planning Institute and it was made available at the meeting for the information of the Members.
The Committee was advised that representatives of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive would be in attendance at the meeting of the Housing Forum on Thursday, 26th April, 2012 to discuss issues around Houses in Multiple Occupation in the University and Laganbank areas.

Seminar - Planning for the Future Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee was advised that notification had been received from agendaNi regarding a seminar entitled “Planning for the Future”, which would be held in the Baby Grand, Grand Opera House, on Thursday, 14th June, 2012. It was pointed out that, given the forthcoming Review of Public Administration, together with the proposed return of the planning function to Local Government in 2014.
The issues to be discussed at the seminar would be of particular relevance to Members. It was indicated that the seminar would provide an opportunity for those with a role or interest in planning locally to discuss and debate a range of issues in conjunction with planning experts from across the British Isles. Attendance at the seminar would cost £150 per person.
The Committee agreed to authorise the attendance at this seminar of any Member of the Committee who so wished, together with the Democratic Services Manager or his nominee.

Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee considered further the undernoted applications and, after discussion, adopted the recommendations of the Belfast Planning Manager thereon, with the exception of those referred to below:
6 Kincora Avenue (Z/2011/0390/F)
The Committee considered further a planning application in relation to the erection of a two storey dwelling to the rear of the above-mentioned location in respect of which the Divisional Planning Manager had offered an opinion to approve.
The Committee agreed, with one Member voting against, to adopt the opinion of the Divisional Planning Manager.
(As the decision was not unanimous it was subject to ratification by the Council.)
McDonalds Restaurant Limited, Westwood Centre, Kennedy Way (Z/2011/0765/F)
The Committee considered further a planning application in relation to the refurbishment of the restaurant and patio area, including associated works to the site; the reconfiguration of the drive through lane and car park; the installation of a customer order display and canopy cladding to elevations; and alterations to the roof at the above-mentioned location in respect of which the Divisional Planning Manager had offered an opinion to approve.
The Committee agreed, with one Member voting against, to adopt the opinion of the Divisional Planning Manager.
